The list below shows the name of cyclone that affected India since 1970, the states, their names, Lowest Pressure, year of occurrence, wind speed in km/hour and available images.

The 1999 Super Cyclone in Odisha was the strongest storm to hit the Indian coast, as well as the strongest in the basin till date, with a minimum central pressure of 912 mbar (26.93 in Hg) and the Cyclone Nargish is the costliest cyclone with damages almost $ 12.1 billion. The Cylone Bhola in 1970 is the deadliest cyclone with almost 500000 people killed.

On 11.10.2018 Cyclone ‘Titli’ made its landfall in South Odisha and North Andhra Pradesh coast near 18.8 *N and 84.5* E. After making landfall near Palasa in Andhra Pradesh, cyclone Titli caused extensive damage to station buildings, platform shelters and foot over bridge at various places. The wind speed during landfall was 140-150 km/hr and in some places it was 165 km/hr. Around 3,00,000 people had been evacuated and 1112 relief camps had been opened for the evacuees in the shelters.  ‘Titli’, which means butterfly in Hindi, has been categorized as a “very severe cyclonic storm”. People in five coastal districts in Odisha are being moved to safety after the storm intensified. Thirteen NDRF(The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and Orissa Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) teams deployed in 9 districts and Fire services team were in alert to respond at short notice of the district administration. 30 District Emergency Operation Centres activated to track & respond the Very Severe Cyclonic Storm effectively. 300 Power boats of Special Relief Organization kept ready with crew and POL for relief operations. 879 Multi-purpose cyclone/ flood shelters kept in readiness for sheltering people. 8 persons killed in Andhra Pradesh and  after effect due to ‘Titli’, 77 died in Odisha due to landslide and otherwise.

Efforts are taken to clear roads blocked by uprooted trees and restore power supply in affected areas affected by “very severe cyclone Titli”. Cyclone ‘Titli’ triggered heavy to very heavy rainfall in Odisha, while damage of hutments and asbestos-roofed houses, street lights, road blockade due to uprooted trees in Ganjam. Road communication between Paralakhemundi and Mohana and some other block headquarters in Gajapati had been disrupted under the impact of the cyclone. In Ganjam, reports of damage to hutments and other structures and uprooting of trees.
